Creamy Honey Parmesan Gluten-Free Tortelloni

If you like a little sweet with your savory, this one's for you! Sweet caramelized onions and a drizzle of honey play off savory Parmesan and a splash of soy sauce, all wrapped up in a silky cream sauce that pairs perfectly with each bite of tortelloni. Add a sprinkle of chili flakes for a little kick, and don't be surprised when everyone asks for the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Taste Republic Four Cheese Tortelloni
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/3–1/2 cup caramelized onions
  • 1–2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tbsp honey, plus more to taste
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • Splash of lemon juice
  • 600 mL heavy cream
  • 130 g grated Parmesan
  • 5–6 tbsp flour (gluten-free if needed)
  • Chili flakes, to taste

Directions

  1. Cook the tortelloni according to package directions. Reserve some pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large pan, melt the butter. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, then stir in the caramelized onions.
  3. Add the honey, soy sauce, and a splash of lemon juice, stirring to combine.
  4. Sprinkle in the flour and cook for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream until smooth, then stir in the Parmesan until melted.
  6. Add the cooked tortelloni and toss until coated. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
  7. Finish with chili flakes and serve.
